Pannasastra University Cambodia (PUC)

In order to be considered for a scholarship from Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC), students must meet the following criteria:

For General Public

NEW CANDIDATE must:

  • Belong to a family with a lower socio-economic background.
  • Have matriculated and completed at least one term of study at PUC, and obtained a B average.
  • File a Scholarship Application at the PUC Administration Office.
  • Have no record of disciplinary action or grievance filed against you at PUC.
  • Have maintained good class attendance, model behavior and conduct, and academic honesty.
  • Have to work as student assistant at PUC at least 10 hours per week (only full scholarship).

CONTINUING CANDIDATE must:

  • Obtain at least a passing grade for each term and maintain a C Average for annual GPA.
  • Participate in the daily and/or weekly Work-Study Program (i.e., Office Assistant, Library Assistant, Computer Labs Assistant, etc.) as arranged by University officials.
  • Be available to provide support services at all University events and activities as informed by University Officials.
  • Observer strict disciplines in class and on all PUC premises as stated in University’s Student Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain good class attendance model behavior and conduct, and academic honesty.

Scholarship and Student Grade Policy

  • After reviewing the situation of the students’ performance, Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC) would like to make an adjustment to the scholarship award in accordance to the grade that student received. The award goes according to the Grade Point Average (GPA) for the academic students or to the grade for the English students as stated in the table below:

  • Scholarship students who got “F” grade - have two options:

Option 1: Repeat the same course and pay 50% of the course fee.

Option 2: Take a “Remedial” course and pay $55 for the course. The “Remedial” course is the English supplemental short course designed to help students on the English proficiency for the academic level. It’s a 60 hours course and lasts for about one month.

  • Scholarship students who got “D” grade - Students have three options:

Option 1: Repeat the same course and pay 30% of course fee.

Option 2: Take a “Remedial” course and pay $55 for the course. The “Remedial” course is the English supplemental short course designed to help students on the English proficiency for the academic level. It’s a 60 hours course and lasts for about one month.

Option 3: Go to the academic level with the loss the scholarship meaning that students will need to pay academic tuition in full. Students will be regarded as non-scholarship students.

Scholarship Recipients and Class Schedule Policy

The policy applies to all Pannasastra University of Cambodia (PUC)students who receive 100% scholarship:

PUC International Foreign Language (IFL) English Program Students: All PUC IFL English Program students, who have received 100% scholarship, can only enroll at the Chaktomuk campus. Exceptionally, when all the classes at the Chaktomuk campus are full, some of the students may need to be placed at other campuses; however, they can only enroll in either day or afternoon classes. Evening classes are reserved in priority for tuition-paying students.

Academic Students:

  • Foundation Year through 2nd Year: There is no exception. Regardless of having a day job or not, all 100% of scholarship students can only enroll in either morning or afternoon classes. Such students cannot and are NOT allowed to take evening classes which are reserved in priority for only tuition-paying students.
  • From 3rd Year Onward and NOT Working: 3rd year or higher full scholarship students are NOT allowed to enroll in evening classes. They can only enroll in either morning or afternoon classes. All evening classes are reserved in priority for tuition-paying students.
  • From 3rd Year Onward and Working: A full scholarship student, who studies in the 3rd year or higher, may be able to be granted evening classes upon request, on a case by case basis, when they are having a job. Such a student needs to submit: 1. A letter in her/his own handwriting requesting changing for class schedule. S/he needs to state clearly when s/he started working, where, working schedules, and position. 2. A letter from her/his employment verifying her/his working status including position, employment date, working schedules. 3. The original copy of her/his scholarship application which can be obtained from the scholarship office located on the Main campus.

Note:

  • The following behaviors such as cheating, frequent absences or late arrivals, lacking respect for teachers, and bothering teachers and fellow students in class and /or on University premises, etc., will be taken into consideration for scholarship qualification.
  • All PUC scholarship awards are worth up to one (1) year only and must be reapplied, processed and renewed by October 31 of each academic year. Each scholarship recipient must be responsible for filling out and reapplying the Scholarship Application by the deadline if s/he wishes to have his / her scholarship renewed. Failing to do so may lose the scholarship eligibility for the coming year. Scholarship review and/ or cancellation; however this may be conducted at the end of each term when such actions deem necessary.
  • All scholarship awards may be given or canceled at the discretion of the University President, with the approval of the PUC Scholarship Committee.
  • The University reserves the right to change the scholarship policy as deemed necessary.
