Phnom Penh Institute of Technology (PPIT)

Phnom Penh Institute of Technology recognizes students with good academic records. Full or partial scholarships are given to deserving students from each course. Scholars are selected based on their background as well as their studies ‘score. This is partly- or fully-funded by the Institute. Organizations or individuals are also considered for sponsoring the scholars.

In order to be considered for a scholarship from Phnom Penh Institute of Technology (PPIT), a student must meet the following criteria:

NEW CANDIDATE must:

  • Belong to a family with lower socio-economics background.
  • Have matriculated and completed at least one (1) term of study at PPIT.
  • File a Scholarship Application at the PPIT Administration Office.
  • Have no record of disciplinary action or grievance filed against you at PPIT.
  • Have maintained good class attendance, model behavior and conduct, and academic honesty.
  • Have to work as student assistant at PPIT at least 10 hours per week (only full scholarship).

CONTINUING CANDIDATE must:

  • Obtain at least a passing grade for each term
  • Participate in the daily and/or weekly Work-Study Program (i.e., Office Assistant, Library Assistant, Computer Labs Assistant, etc.) as arranged by University officials
  • Be available to provide support services at all Institute events and activities as informed by Institute Officials
  • Observer strict disciplines in class and on all PPIT premises as stated in Institute’s Student Code of Conduct
  • Maintain good class attendance model behavior and conduct, and academic honesty.

There are 6 types of scholarship as follow:

  1. YAMADA Scholarships sponsored by Sir. YAMADA Osamitsu and companies through the cooperation with the Japan Entrepreneurs Association (JEA), foundations, associations and individuals to support students with good academic results. They receive continuous scholarships for 4 years.

  2. AAET Scholarships sponsored by the secretariat of ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology to support students with good academic results. They receive continuous scholarships for 4 years.

  3. PPIT Scholarships and Company Scholaships which shall be offered for students in need, applicants must perform some work assigned by PPIT or Partner Companies in the same academic year.

  4. Academic loans which are financial aids from the government supporting through University Committee, Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, Ministry of Work and Vocational Training, or Partner Banks, or Microfinances.

  5. Scholarships for study trip to foreign countries which are academic scholarships sponsored by PPIT in cooperation with the local and foreign organizations. Qualified students will be selected.

  6. Scholarships for study abroad and exchange student program which are academic scholarships sponsored by PPIT in cooperation with organizations or funding universities. Qualified students will be selected.
