Established in 1997, it was originally known as Vanda Accounting Center and got officially renamed to Vanda Institute in 2001. Vanda Accounting Center still does exist although under the management of Vanda Institute. The term "institute" was preferred since "university" is believed to be too narrow a term. Currently, Vanda Institute consists of three branches in three different provinces and cities: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Battambang.
